Workplace "Spirit"
The Design: Design Concept
Now it is time to apply what I have learned! I need to develop a design solution that will exceed Mayor Gray's expectations.
Project Duration: January - May 2011

Inspirational Images
Lexington is a unique place because as you let the winding country roads lead you to an unexpected place, you suddenly come up on the lively downtown area. The parti for this solution visually expresses this same idea by using this build-up formed by a curvilinear line that then leads your eye into this unexpected explosion of color.
Designers have the ability to manipulate a space so the user may have a specific experience. Imagine riding the elevator to the 12th floor of the Historic Lafayette Hotel; this becomes the build-up. When the doors open, there is an unexpected splash of color that dances throughout the space; the
explosion.
Parti

This design captures the “spirit” of Lexington. This city is defined by its diverse passionate population that is represented through “pops of color” that dance throughout the space. The use of color inspires the users, stimulates excitement and is reflective of Lexington’s youthful flair.
[ spir-it ]
-verb: to encourage; urge on or stir up, as to action.
